Does the alfa 2w wifi adapter works? February 23, 2010 Manuel A. Rodriguez (New York,NY,USA) If you are looking for an answer to weak signal and slow browsing like I did, it will do the job. I used to get frustrated with the internet because opening a website would take long times and it will be slowly opened or I would have to clicked a couple of times to open it. Forget about watching a video, it was impossible. I had to find a way to avoid breaking my laptop in one of those moments I got very frustrated and began shouting at the laptop. People will look at me like I was crazy. I was for a moment and I can tell. So I decided to look around and after a few hours of researching I decided to go for it and I am happy I did. The internet is quicker than ever, I can even watch movies and best of all I did not brake my laptop. People say I look a lot more relaxed now. Good for me. Do not look at a lot of improvement on signal strength but it will be higher than whatever you may have now. However, look for a much better speed and happy times in the internet compared to long waiting and a lot of hair pulling and come on! and cursing to the laptop which has nothing to do with it by the way. Ah, I tried the Hawking HWDN1 HI Gain Wireless 300N that looks like a mini satellite before this one and it did not perform as good as this one. The HWDN1 cost about $100. In conclusion, this Alfa 2W wifi adapter is cheaper and perform much better. Enjoy! PS. I bought another for a friend that uses the internet at the same place I do. He is the crazy one now. He,he,he...
Total Garbage! February 17, 2010 I. Spencer (North Florida) I purchased this adapter in hopes I could feed off of my parents router only 600 feet away. I got nothing! It is supposed to pick up signals up to 1.2 miles away. On a clear day and using the large 9dBi antenna with aprox. 1000+ homes around me I couldn't even pick up a signal 600 feet away! I even unhooked my computer and took it to my parents home to make sure my computer was not the problem. It connected immediately when I was sitting right next to their router. So much for "strongest on the market".
